Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Warm Work Jackets

Warm work jackets help protect workers from cold, wet and demanding outdoor conditions while supporting workplace visibility and safety requirements. Which Work Jacket Should You Choose?

The ArcShield 185gsm jacket is an inherent protective garment listed with an 8.8-cal rating. The 240gsm FR TTMC jacket has an 11-cal rating, while the heavier 410gsm FR hoodies and polar fleece garments are listed with a 22-cal rating.

These ratings and garment types are not interchangeable. Select workwear according to the workplace hazard assessment, required TTMC specification, arc rating, garment weight and relevant safety procedures.

FR Workwear, Rain Jackets or Fleece Liners?

FR hoodies and polar fleece garments provide warmer options for cold environments where flame-resistant workwear is required. The lighter ArcShield and FR jackets may be more suitable where mobility, layering or lower garment weight is preferred.

Torrential orange rain jackets are designed for wet-weather work, while navy polar fleece liners add warmth to compatible outer jackets. Confirm liner compatibility before ordering, as they may not fit every jacket model.

Choose a size that allows comfortable movement and any required underlayers without affecting the garment’s fit. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions to help preserve the garment’s protective properties.
