Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Bamboo Skewers

Bamboo skewers are useful for presenting appetisers, canapés, fruit, desserts and other small food portions at restaurants, catered events and functions. Insinc’s range includes straight, twisted, split and decorative skewers in lengths from 8cm to 30cm.

Options include knot-top, heart-loop and coloured Kasari Kushi designs, along with longer skewers for kebabs and larger food portions. Most products are supplied in cartons of 1,000.

Which Skewer Length Should You Choose?

Short 8–10cm skewers suit garnishes, bite-sized appetisers and cocktail service. Medium 12–15cm options work well for canapés, fruit, sliders and food presentation, while 18–30cm skewers provide more room for kebabs and larger portions.

Choose a length that securely holds the food without leaving an excessive exposed point. Consider the thickness, weight and number of ingredients placed on each skewer.

Straight or Decorative Skewers?

Straight bamboo skewers provide a simple option for everyday food service. Knot, twist, loop and coloured-top designs can add a decorative finish to buffets, platters, weddings and catered events.
