Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Work Overalls

Work overalls provide full-body coverage for industrial, trade, maintenance and utility work. Insinc’s range includes standard navy dome overalls and flame-resistant overalls in navy, orange and navy, and red colourways.

Flame-resistant options include 240gsm and 320gsm garments with listed arc ratings of 11 cal or 12 cal. Sizes range from 4 to 16 across selected styles, helping businesses outfit workers with different fit requirements.

Standard or Flame-Resistant Overalls?

Dome navy overalls provide a practical option for general workplace tasks where specialised flame-resistant protection is not required.

FR overalls are designed for workplaces with identified heat, flame or electrical arc hazards. The range includes 320gsm navy and orange/navy garments rated at 12 cal, along with lighter 240gsm overalls rated at 11 cal. Selected red garments are also available with tape.

These ratings are not interchangeable. Select protective clothing according to the workplace risk assessment, required arc rating, garment specification and applicable safety procedures.

Choosing the Correct Weight, Colour and Size

The heavier 320gsm overalls may suit workplaces where a more substantial garment is required, while the 240gsm options provide a lighter alternative. Navy offers a traditional workwear appearance, while orange/navy and red styles provide greater visual contrast.

Choose a size that allows comfortable movement and any required underlayers without creating loose fabric that could introduce another workplace hazard. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions, as incorrect washing, alterations or damage may affect the garment’s protective performance.
